How Do We Measure Success?

Ah, success. It's something we all strive for, but what does it really mean?

As Yoda once said;

"Success, you will define."

And he's right!

Success means different things to different people, and it's important to figure out what it means to you.

Let's take a look at a couple of examples from some iconic figures.

First up, let's talk about Mario. You know, the mustached plumber from the Mushroom Kingdom?

For Mario, success means saving the princess and defeating Bowser along the way.

Save the princess is his ultimate goal, and he measures his success by achieving it, but he also has Mike stones, every Bowser battle won, over and over again!

Now, you might not have a Bowser to defeat, but you can still use Mario's example to figure out what success means to you.

What's your ultimate goal?

And what are your milestones?

What would make you feel like you’re making progress and when you've achieved that final success?

Now, let's turn back to Yoda.

He's a wise Jedi Master from a galaxy far, far away, and he has a lot to say about success.

For Yoda, success means achieving inner peace and harmony with the Force.

He measures his success by how well he follows the Jedi Code and how much he helps others.

Again, you might not be a Jedi, but you can use Yoda's example to figure out what success means to you. What brings you inner peace? How do you measure your impact on others?

Ultimately, success is a personal and subjective thing.

It's important to figure out what it means to you, rather than comparing yourself to others.

And as the famous video game developer, Shigeru Miyamoto once said, "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."

Success is like that too!

It's better to take your time and figure out what you want, rather than rushing into something that might not make you happy in the long run.

So, what does success look like to you?

Let me know in the comments👇

It could be something as simple as getting a promotion or as complex as finding inner peace.

Whatever it is, take the time to define it for yourself and figure out how you'll measure your success.

And remember, like Mario and Yoda, success is a journey, not just a destination.

Enjoy the ride and celebrate your successes along the way!
