I wanted to share a little something today, something I think many of us can relate to: feeling like an imposter. đ¤ˇââď¸
But you know what? Events like Develop Brighton have a way of reminding us just how far we've come in the Games Industry.
Sometimes, it's easy to get caught up in comparing ourselves to the giants in our industry, those who have achieved incredible success. But here's the thing: we don't have to measure our own worth by their standards. We've been working tirelessly, pouring our hearts and souls into our craft, and that counts for a lot.
I've made it my mission to contribute to the industry in my own way, to make it a better place. I strive to foster stronger connections, create a safer and more supportive environment for newcomers, and share advice that I wish I had known earlier (and sometimes struggle to follow myself đ ).
So, here's a gentle reminder for all of you amazing game creators out there: Whether you're a seasoned veteran or just starting out, you already hold your "Dev card."
You're part of this incredible community, and that's something to celebrate. Take a moment to relax and enjoy the ride. đ˘
Remember, making games is a journey, and we're all on it together.
Let's soak up every bit of this amazing experience and bask in the joy it brings. đ
